August 2014

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to get ready for our special day! We felt so at home here and can’t wait to see the photographs. I will email you some so you can see! A huge thank you. Amy and Chris (and my beautiful bridesmaids and flower girls)

This is our second visit to the cottage and it was like ‘coming home’ walking in and seeing the fabulous Aga. I love the Aga (even though I didn’t cook from scratch thanks to the local M+S food and the wine warehouse). There are so many thoughtful touches and the attention to detail in the cottage is perfect. We visited Monkey Forest (excellent) and Alton Towers (excellent but traffic horrendous queueing to get in!). Big thank you Claudia, Chris and family. The Farrell family

Thank you for letting us use your lovely cottage for three days, we wish it could have been for longer. It’s like home from home, so comfortable and a superb setting, lovely part of the country. We visited Alton Towers, The Blue John Caverns, Castleton Caverns, which were great fun. Hope to stay again one day soon. Thanks again. Des, Sally, Niamh and Maisie

Another restful, peaceful and relaxing visit to the Old Laundry…visit number 4! This time we enjoyed: a visit to Sudbury Hall and village, lunch in the village pub ‘The Vernon Arms’ is to be encouraged – a quaint pub with good value food. We visited the airfield at Darley Moor and had coffee in the aviator café – a great place to watch light aircraft and a tiger moth doing special flights. Thank you again Chris, Claudia, Martha and Barney. Kevin and Rachel, Sheffield

A wonderful week. Lovely welcome, spacious comfortable accommodation, deep in the heart of the country, yet just one mile from town. We have not come far yet this was a part of Derbyshire we have not really been to and it has been very restful and enjoyable. Our Grandchildren were near enough to pay a visit by bus and they had a good time too. Would love to return perhaps in the colder weather – the log fire sounds very appealing. Thank you. Hazel and Roger, Buxton

Wonderful place to experience, lots of space in and around the laundry for us, with two boys of 13 and 16 age, so have a great 2nd week in Great Britain. This region is very nice to stay and find relaxing moments. Biking, walking, caving, Manchester United! Ashbourne visits and still lots of things not done. Boys loved to play football in the garden, supported by neighbour’s dog! Thank you! Hannie, Marco, Jan and Jesper Van Valburg. Holland

Love Sarah, Zach, Asa and Corinne. ps we came all the way from Portland, Maine, USA and you were so great in accommodating our arrangements!

February 2014

We have had a super week – one of the most comfortable cottages we’ve stayed in (and there have been quite a few!). Good to be back in this beautiful countryside, where I used to come to visit with my Grandparents, and catch up with family in Ashbourne and roundabout. Shrovetide football and amazing experience, though we perhaps got a bit close to the action – husband still has bruised ribs! Leisa and Jim, Tunbridge Wells; Simon and Gill, Mayo + Ketch the dogs, Powys

July 2013

Thank you, we have had a wonderful time in your gorgeous cottage! J A bonus was being able to have my parents here for 3 nights. My mother is disabled but managed very well on the lower ground and used the ‘conservatory’ as a sitting area with the wonderful view over the fields towards Ashbourne. The things we enjoyed whilst here: peace and quiet; walk into Ashbourne over the fields; visiting the shops in Ashbourne; Denstone Hall farm shop and café; The Red Lion at Hognaston; The George at Alstonefield. We look forward to visiting again. Kevin and Rachel Asbery, Sheffield

June 2013

Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage. Our first few days weather was perfect, then changeable. Derbyshire is a great place to stay with lots of things to do. The beds!!! The best we have ever slept in – sooo comfortable. Thank you and best wishes. The Brill family

May 2013

Claudia and Chris, despite the appalling weather our five day half term break has been really enjoyable. Loads of walking and visits to the local stately homes. We tried out many of the recommended pubs for dinner – our favourite food was at The Red Lion, Hognaston. Brilliant to come back to a hot bath and a roaring fire at the end of a rainy, freezing day. A very well equipped cottage, just rustic enough! We’ve had a great holiday. Many thanks. The Buhler family

Claudia and Chris, thank you for a wonderful weekend. You will definitely see us again. The Smith family
